      No, you have to be comfortable with math but you don’t need to be a math nerd to be a good scientist

      No you don’t need higher level maths. You just need to pass leaving cert maths. Several people in my class in college had ordinary level maths.

      If you want to work in physics or engineering, good Maths skills are definitely needed. If you are a chemist or biologist, the Maths you need to work in the lab seldom exceed the simple law of proportion.

      I think good mathematical skills are necessary if your research is about mathematics, physics, or other theoretical research. But maths skills don’t seem particularly important in other disciplines, but my teacher once told me that studying maths helps develop logical thinking skills.
