This is really variable in my job. Some weeks, I’m in the lab all day, every day, and some weeks I’m not in the lab at all! I would say for most weeks I’m in the lab 3-5 days per week.

It definitely depends on the day, in the beginning I was in the lab five days per week. Now that I am writing my final thesis, I’m in the lab maybe 2 days per week.

Each time an experiment is designed and we have to test it, I get to spend more and more hours in the lab everyday, including weekends sometimes. It isn’t necessary, but I enjoy it.

It is very variable, I could spend the entire week in the lab or just one day, depending on the availability of the machines I use.

I work in the lab every day but sometimes if I have no lab work to do or I have a lot of results to analyse I work in the office. When I’m busy in the lab sometimes I might need to work in the lab at the weekend.

In my 1st and 2nd years here I was working 5-6 days a week, but now, I spend a lot of time writing so my lab work is about 4 days a week.

In my current role I am in the lab 1-2 days a week. My younger team members work usually 4-5 days per week in the lab. It’s not my choice to work less than them in the lab, I simply have to do many other things as a lecturer.
