      I was always curious about what was surrounding me, I wanted to know more about how nature work. In secondary school I did my first real experiments, I have seen that science was a really powerful tool to explain how nature work for example but also many other things. I then decided to follow a science carrier.

      We used to watch lots of Bill Nye videos in primary school and once a year a scientist would come to my school to do some experiments with us. It was so much fun! I knew I wanted to be a scientist when I grew up because of those experiences.

      I liked learning the working principles of things happening around me – natural phenomena and gadgets at home. I didn’t aim to be a scientist. I gained other qualifications.
      I enjoyed the research aspect during a Master’s degree project and I decided to give it a shot. 5 years later, I officially became a scientist.

      I was always interested in how things work and I wanted to figure out how they worked or why do they exist or why do we need them. In school I found that science can help me to answer questions I had so I decided to become a scientist.

      There is a German television show for children called “Die Sendung mit der Maus” (the show with the mouse). They explain in simple words how complicated things work. This sparked my curiosity, which was the main driving force for becoming a scientist
