I mostly work with microbiome data. Our microbiome is all the bacteria that live in our bodies along with their genetic information. Through sequencing methods we can get an idea of what bacteria are present in our gut and how much of that particular species is present. In my research, I mostly work with data which has been collected from healthy people as well as people with a particular disease. My job is to see if I can find any differences between healthy and sick patients based on the data we collected from them using methods like statistics or machine learning.
